Optimism
It was Dr. Karl Menninger who said, "Attitudes are more
important than facts."
Sometimes facts are disheartening at first glance, but many times they can be altered by your attitudes, beliefs and actions.
Several years ago I crafted my own definition for attitude that helped to remind me how my attitude can either serve or hinder my efforts.
I defined attitude as "a selected thought process that is manifested into action". This self-motivator reminded me to be careful about how I think, not to accept things as they are (facts), and that my thoughts can impact my results.
Many times in my life I have found that attitudes were more important than facts!
