YOU can sell consistently: part one.
YOU can sell consistently: part one.
This week, I want you to concentrate on five principles to help you sell consistently. Next week, I will give you five more principles.
What does it mean to sell consistently?
Purpose
Define why you do what you do. Having a definite, concrete purpose gives you the determination you need to overcome the lack of motivation that is often the reason people don’t do what they need to do when they need to do it.
Attitude
How you think has the ultimate impact on what you do. To be consistent in your sales effort, you must manage your thought process. How you think and what you think about is 100% under your control. Listen to positive and informative CDs, read helpful and encouraging material, and get yourself in the presence of a positive mentor.
Planning
Most people don’t succeed in life simply because they don’t plan to succeed. Every day, make a plan of what you need to accomplish. Start by setting goals for the year, and then break that down into monthly, then weekly, then daily steps. You must have a goal before you can make a plan.
Prospecting
Every day you do not prospect, you will settle for a lesser degree of performance the next day. Don’t settle! Every day, do the one thing that has more to do with your success than anything else: get new people to see.
Appointments
Set appointments every day. Set enough appointments to ensure you can make at least two new presentations every day. You are in the “people” business, and your goal should be to ensure you have plenty of them to talk to.
Remember what others have said about selling consistently:
Everyone lives by selling something.
The person who makes a success of living is the one who sees his goal steadily and aims for it unswervingly. That is dedication.
